Kaiser Baucontrol has been involved in the realization of this new multi-purpose complex in Dresden’s Südvorstadt district since 2021. The construction phase was split into 3 lots: Fit-out-ready carcass, REWE supermarket and Teaching spaces & offices.
The third lot was completed in 2023-2024 and saw the floors above the supermarket fitted out on behalf of the Free State of Saxony for use by TU Dresden’s Faculty of Education. This involved the creation of both teaching spaces and offices. In addition to conventional seminar rooms, the areas in question also house numerous special-purpose rooms such as chemistry and physics labs, a teaching kitchen and workshops for woodwork and metalwork. The complex comprises a gross floor area of approx. 22,990 m².
The project saw Kaiser Baucontrol take responsibility for site management, project steering and project controlling.
Final handover of the third lot was originally scheduled for 23.10.2024, but had to be postponed by three weeks to 13.11.2024 in order to facilitate the clarification of a number of unforeseeable technical issues involving building automation and deviations between plans for the fire alarm and the system in its installed form. Our goal is to bring the project to a successful conclusion that satisfies the requirements of all stakeholders in the spring of 2025.
