Located at Salzstraße 1 in the spa town of Bad Tölz, the building is the property of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and was upgraded to modern fire safety requirements over the course of an 8-month construction period. The project also involved the conversion of spaces within the former parish centre into small commercial units. The new offices in the tower meet all contemporary standards and offer breath-taking views of the town.
The programme of fire safety upgrades included the addition of an emergency exit balcony to each floor on the north side of the building. As the property is subject to a preservation order, the project was planned and implemented in close consultation with the regional authorities and the local planning authority.
The converted and upgraded building was successfully handed over in late October, with the first tenants moving into the tower on 01.11.2024. KBC’s Munich team – which regularly partners with the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising under the terms of a framework agreement – was responsible for the management of the overall project.
