This particularly challenging element of a wider repair project comprises the removal, repair and replacement of part of the stage machinery at Staatsschauspiel Dresden’s main theatre. The component in question is a plunger (or piston rod) forming part of a hydraulic platform, and is approx. 0.42 metres in diameter, approx. 13.75 metres in length and nearly 4 tons in weight. The work is timetabled for the theatre’s summer break.
Kaiser Baucontrol has been given responsibility for the coordination of the planning and execution of the removal and replacement of the plunger on behalf of SIB Dresden (the Dresden branch of the Saxon Real Estate and Construction Management Agency).
