The portfolio entails the planning and execution of infrastructure projects on the rail networks around Dresden and Zwickau on behalf of infrastructure agencies DB InfraGO AG and DB Energie GmbH.
As a result of the large number of projects involved, the portfolio is being implemented by four regional teams:
1. Ruhland/Senftenberg hub
2. Elbe Valley/Dresden corridor
3. Maintenance projects – Zwickau network
4. Maintenance projects – Dresden network
Kaiser Baucontrol is currently managing the realisation of 98 projects in the Dresden/Zwickau rail region, with individual budgets ranging between approx. €100,000 and €65 million. From July 2024 onwards, KBC will be responsible for another 80 projects, thus increasing the total number under its supervision to 178 projects with an overall budget of approx. €1.14 billion. This new phase will be accompanied by special challenges in terms of multi-project management. One of the most demanding projects will be the replacement of the track monitoring system at Senftenberg Station, which will necessitate a variety of measures including modifications to existing signalling systems.
