The portfolio foresees the planning and execution of infrastructure projects on the rail networks around Dresden and Zwickau on behalf of infrastructure agencies DB Netz AG, DB Station&Service AG and DB Energie GmbH. The projects vary in value, with the replacement of track lighting in Zwickau, the replacement of signalling systems at Senftenberg Station and the Schwarzheide-Ruhland container terminal (on land owned by BASF) among the larger, higher-value projects. The majority of the numerous smaller-scale projects within the portfolio involve the replacement or refurbishment of railway bridges and tunnels.
Unlike larger, stand-alone projects, the portfolio foresees the realisation of a considerable number of small and medium-sized projects (approx. €200,000 >< approx. €65 million) by multiple project teams. This represents a special challenge in terms of multi-project management. Around 50 projects are ongoing in the Dresden/Zwickau rail region.
The KBC team seconded to this long-term project is responsible for providing the client with project management support.
